Should Something be Done to Regulate Traffic Near Norton High School?

Selectman Robert Salvo said he would like to discuss the issue with the Norton School Committee.

The traffic at Norton High School on W. Main St. generated discussion last week at Norton Town Hall.

Selectman Robert Salvo said he would like to discuss the issue with the Norton School Committee the next time the two committees come together to meet.

Salvo said traffic near the high school is especially difficult early in the morning, at approximately 7 a.m. and in the afternoon when school is released.

"We need to put somebody there just for 45 minutes in the morning," he said.

His comments came shortly after a discussion regarding traffic on Route 123 near the center of town. Salvo said he hopes something can be done about the light configuration near Route 140, and Selectmen Chair Robert Kimball said the town should look into adding an additional lane near the Wheaton College President's House.
