Obituaries: Roger LeClerc, Peter William Coulombe




The following are Norton obituaries.

Roger L. LeClerc, 71, of Norton died surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved 30 year companion of Charliene F. Barboza of Norton.

He was born in Smithfield, R.I. on Feb. 16, 1942 and had grown up and was educated in Sharon.

Prior to retiring, Mr. LeClerc had been employed for several years in various capacities at the Raynham/Taunton Dog Track. He had formerly worked for 25 years for the John Hancock Life Insurance Co. and at the same time also at the former Foxboro Raceway. When younger, one of Roger’s first jobs was at the former First National Grocery Store.

A resident of Norton for the past 38 years, Roger truly was one who loved the great outdoors and was a member of the Wankinquoah Club in Middleboro. He enjoyed hunting with friends in Maine, and, especially fishing locally with his adoring grandchildren.

In addition to his companion Charliene, he is survived by his devoted children, Russell J. LeClerc of Attleboro, Pamela J. LeClerc-Bovey and her husband Charles of Mansfield, Michelle R. Cronin and her husband John of Hanson, and Scott C. Barboza of Middleboro. He was the cherished grandfather of James and Joshua LeClerc, Emma, Cameron and Olivia Bovey, and Timothy, Joseph and Holly Cronin. He was predeceased by his wife Suzanne LeClerc, his sister Shirley Laczynski, and is also survived by his former wife Charlene Zabrowski of Foxboro.

His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, July 11, at 11 a.m.. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.

Visitation will be held on Thursday morning prior to the services beginning at 10 a.m.. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. LeClerc’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Oncology Dept. at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital, 211 Park St., Attleboro, MA 02703.

Peter William Coulombe

Peter William Coulombe, 66, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the son of the late Peter and Bernadette (Gelineau) Coulombe.

Peter was born in Foxborough on July 24, 1946 and was educated in Foxborough Public Schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He and his wife Linda were married on June 21, 2003. He has been a resident of Norton for the last 30 years and was formerly of Attleboro.

Peter was a member of the BAC, Local 1, Bricklayers of Massachusetts for 48 years. He also worked and enjoyed driving taxi for Houle’s Taxi Service of Attleboro. Peter was a member of the Beagle Club in Plainville and a past member of the B.P.O. of Elks in Attleboro.

Peter was an avid motorcyclist having survived a horrific accident last April and was determined to get back on his bike. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and was a huge NASCAR fan.

Peter was a sports enthusiast, especially of the New England Patriots, was an avid Loren and Wally listener and a true Jeff Dunham fan. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends

He was the beloved husband of Linda Marie (Michaud) Coulombe, loving father of Joseph Coulombe of Cape Cod and Sally Houle of Oregon, devoted brother of Lori Nutting of Norwood, Lorraine Teague of Foxborough, Rosita Sabbag of Bellingham, Arlene Flagg of Foxborough, Paul Coulombe of Plympton, and the lae Bernadette Woodward of Attleboro, loving brother in-law and best buddy of Charles Woodward. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., Foxborough. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Center Cemetery in Wrentham.
