I can see your point, Steve, and I don't know for sure, but does Manhattan Beach spend too much money on things like tree assessments, arborists, studies on roundabouts, and the like? As a Manhattan Beach resident, I wonder about such things and will delve deeper for reporting. I even wonder why we're potentially adding back 10 staff positions that were cut in 2008-2009 due to the economy that doesn't include any additional police department personnel, when I think we could use more PD staff, officers and otherwise.

ReplyAs a reminder to all, anyone can create and post events on MB Patch! It's a great way to get the word out about upcoming events and the event is posted online as soon as you create & post it. There's no waiting for an editor's approval or anything like happens in traditional media where you "submit" something for consideration and perhaps it gets published or listed in a calendar. ReplyYeah, I remember when there was a road instead of Pier Plaza and you could park in front of the businesses if you found a space. I've also heard that location was home to Taco Bill's. What do you know about that? & I've heard that La Playita used to be on The Strand where Beach House Hotel is. Anyone know of a good historical pub on Hermosa Beach that has this kind of info?
