ReplyA quick tip on closet organization from the Organizing Genie: The changing of the seasons is the perfect time to de-clutter your closet. Typically we only wear 20% of our clothing 80% of the time. Before you replace your summer shorts with your winter sweaters review each piece of summer clothing and give yourself permission to toss any clothing item that is stained, torn, beyond repair or doesn't make you feel good. If you haven't worn it all summer long, it's safe to say you really don't like the item and should be donated. Doing this one step will instantly create room in your closet next summer.
Have a question on closet organization? Please feel free to post your question so that I can help you.
Don't forget to submit a photo of your scariest closet for your chance to win a free organizing session.

Thanks for your thoughts Michael. While storing books electronically is a smarter alternative in this digital age, I have to admit that I still love holding and reading my books the old fashioned way. After being surrounded by electronics all day, I love to relax and unwind without looking into another electronic screen. At the end of the day it's a personal preference, but I'm sure in the future I'll be willing to give it a try.

There is nothing wrong with keeping a few books you read to your children, because those memories do speak to your soul and hopefully one day you can pass them down to your children or grandchildren. I still own some classic Disney books which are stored and treated with respect waiting for the day I have grandchildren to share them with.

ReplyThanks for this story Mike. I enjoyed reading the Hall of Shame and Hall of Fame list. I was surprised to find Progressive in the "Hall of Shame"...maybe if they invested more into their customer service support than commercials they would find themselves off the list. As for the "Hall of Fame"...Southwest has really come a long way in the past few years and always provide us with courteous and quick responses to any concerns we may have addressed. Great Post.

Carol - I love your idea of holding a 4th of July Bingo party - that's why it's always best to have a backup plan - esp. in New England. Thanks for sharing.

We sure do and I also feel the same way you do about the zero tolerance policy. So, if a child was cornered by a bully who pulled out a knife, should that child have the right to protect themselves or just stand there and take it for fear that they would receive the same punishment. Here's a better solution for bullies - why not make the bully and their parent attend mandatory counseling. Maybe that would inconvenient the parent enough to become more involved in their child's life.
