On the article Prohibiting Dog Breed Specific Laws: Fair or Turning a Blind Eye?

ReplyBreed specific legislation is definitely unfair. As mentioned in the article above there are many different breeds that get confused with pit bulls. I worked at a boarding kennel when I was in High School and college and never had a bad experience with a Pit Bull, but had several with Chows, Rottweilers and mixed breed dogs. Then within every breed there are many different types of animals. For example, I own a Border Collie. This is a high energy breed and not recommended for people who can not exercise them a great deal. Some will say Border Collies are not great with kids or small animals, but mine is awesome with both, just not so much with other dogs. He usually does quite well with regular leash walking. It is definetly important to take the dogs temperment, training, and well being in mind before looking at the breed specifically. Pit Bulls, like all breeds, should be bred, owned and handled responsibly.

ReplyThey started early. I heard the planes make two passes over my home at 7:35. Luckily I had already turned off the fan closest to my Sun Conure (bird) and finished what I needed to do outside.

ReplyHi Susan, at what age do you recommend that a child first be introduced to swimming. I personally don't enjoy swimming or being in water beyond wading, but I have an infant and I don't want her to be fearful or disfunctional in water.

ReplyHI Chris,I just wanted to point out that "voluntary benefits" aren't always in the form of Aflac type insurance. It can be auto or home insurance, savings programs, wellness programs and the like. This sound a bit like you are just looking for business.

ReplyI think it is a great idea. It is something constructive for local young people to do. From what I've experienced the Resevoir isn't exactly quiet most of the year, between boaters, fishermen, fireworks and those that sneak over to the island for parties and camp outs. I'm all for it. I read somewhere that somone said it wasn't a place for recreation but that is what it was once upon a time and I would love to see it get back to that.

I don't know where the noisy neigbors live on Eddy St. I lived in a 2nd floor apartment there for a yhear-and-a -half or so and at that time my neighbors upstairs would have parties on weekend nights, they'd fill the parking lot and spill out on the street, then they'd stomp up the stairs just outside my then bedroom and party until early morning hours. I bought my own house and moved out, and most of the neighboring apartments tennants have changed since then. That would have been a problem for me if they banned parking on the street back then, because I paid rent, and yet there were nights I had to park on the road because all the guests took the spots off road.
