About Bill
Bill Gouveia has been a local columnist for several newspapers for well over a decade. Those papers include the Sun Chronicle (Attleboro, MA), Norton Mirror, Mansfield News and Easton Journal. A lifelong resident of Norton, Bill is the current elected Town Moderator as well as a former selectman and finance committee member. A graduate of Norton High, Bill has been married to his wife Cynthia for 34 years. They have two grown sons Aaron and Nate, two wonderful daughters-in-law in MJ and Melissa, and the world's most amazing grandson (did he mention his name is William?).

Hi Bill - I just saw your comment about the Legion game - or more accurately about the comments on the Legion game. In hindsight, I wish I'd never commented. I do believe it was cheating, albeit unintentional. If you get caught speeding you cannot defend youself by saying you didn't know the speed limit. I see no difference. As far as the backlash is concerned - WOW! Over the top! They must have read my bio on Patch, which states that I was a 'Hippie' in the 60's. Good grief - I was a Reagan guy! :-) I have no issues with criticism, but outright attacks are unacceptable. BTW - I referenced my military service because of the 'Hippie' persona they tried to put on me. I hope your comment doesn't get them going again. You may be their next target.
