The Town of Norton is accepting resumes for the position of full-time water and sewer superintendent. The superintendent will perform a variety of duties to operate and maintain the town’s water and wastewater systems. The day-to-day operations of the department are managed by the water sewer superintendent, working under the administrative of the Board of Water and Sewer Commission, Town Manager, and in conformance with federal, state and local regulatory laws, rules and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and considerable experience in municipal water and sewer operations in a progressively responsible capacity, including four years of supervisory experience. The Town of Norton Water and Sewer Commission will host a public meeting regarding changes since the completion of the previous draft comprehensive water resources management program and the current recommended plan as outlined in the ongoing draft comprehensive wastewater management plan. The meeting will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Norton Public Library. This meeting will be hosted by the Water and Sewer Commission and will be attended by the Commission's engineering consultant Weston & Sampson. The purpose of this meeting is to present an update on the many wastewater-related changes since completion of the original study. The last day to register to vote for the Annual Town Election and the Annual Town Meeting is Wednesday, April 4. The Annual Town Election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. with all Precincts voting at Norton High School. The Norton Town Clerks Office, located on the first floor of Town Hall, 70 E. Main St. will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on this day. Town Hall is open for regular hours Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursdays 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. There are contested races in this year's election.
