New Testament Duo Saves Soccer Season

Two seniors persevere to maintain soccer program at New Testament in Norton.

But Nina Jobert and Jzanev Leitao of New Testament Christian School in Norton made sure the Knights soccer program would live on for their senior year. During registration day, the two recruited 11 girls. Other girls said they were interested, but couldn't afford the $200 fee. Nonetheless, they got the minimum amount of girls they needed to play. That number meant they had no substitute players if one got hurt or, even worse, dropped out. Which is what happened. The girls were crushed at the news. “I started crying,” Leitou said. Fortunately, they were given one last chance to recruit at least five girls so that their soccer season could commence. In hopes they …

It may seam strange to have high school kids playing soccer for the first time on a team but at NTCS it works. The dedication to the team and the coaches always end up with teams that play as one unit and not with the focus on "star" players. Good luck …   more ›
