Making And Breaking New Year Resolutions

List the steps on how you will get to your goal, and then do it.

For many years I would make one or two New Year's resolutions before the clock struck midnight on Dec. 31. Unfortunately, my good intentions would last only a few weeks, sometimes only a few days, before I fell back into my former ways. I'm sure you've made the same resolutions that I have – to eat better, to lose weight, to exercise, etc., etc. Experts (who are these experts anyways?) tell us we need to make specific goals in order to achieve them. Instead of saying "I resolve to lose weight," be specific and say "I resolve to lose 20 lbs." – and list the steps on how you plan to accomplish that goal. Such as – Step 1: I plan to walk every morning before breakfast on the treadmill. Step 2: I will pack a healthy lunch every day to bring to…
