Lancers Tennis Loses to Holliston

Holliston wins 4 - 1.

Norton varsity tennis hosted a meet today against Holliston. Though they lost 4 - 1, doubles team Kolin Campbell and Chris Ricca shined against Holliston's Mike Regan and Roland Shuster 6-1 and 6-1. Other match results: Henry Lively of Holliston defeated P.J. Levesque 6-2, 6-3. Will Foster defeated Mike Adler of Norton High 6-2, 6-1. Wes Knapp defeated Lancer Justin Baird 6-2, 6-1. Holliston's James Lefebvre and Ben Flanagan defeated Taylor Marcon and Brandon Jenkins 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.

Norton Wrestling Overcomes Holliston

Team takes step toward winning league title.

Last Wednesday the Norton High wrestlers traveled to Holliston to take on the defending Tri-Valley League and Division 3 Central Sectional champions and Division 3 State Dual Meet Runners-up. The Lancers knew that a win there would be essential in their quest to regain the league title and that the Panthers would be prepared to do battle. When the dust cleared, Norton had taken a hard-fought 46-24 victory and a major step toward winning another league title. With no wrestler at 106 lbs., Norton gave up a forfeit in the first weight class. Sophomore Ahrayah Saintius fought to the final buzzer at 113 lbs., but lost an exciting 17-10 decision giving Holliston an early 9-0 early lead. Mixed day for Norton Cross Country

Boys win and girls lose in a meet against Holliston.

It was a mixed day for the Norton High School cross country teams, as the girls fell short with the boys running away with the win.  It was not a good day for the girls, as Holliston beat the Lady Lancers 16-47. The top runner for Norton was Jess Greco, who ran 20:24 over 2.85 miles. This puts the girls’ record 2-6.  “It was an incredible day on the boys’ side,” said cross country coach Kent Taylor.  The Lancer boys won 17-70, putting their record at 4-4. They had five runners in the top six places with Billy Sullivan leading the pack at a 5:42 pace. Max Marcotte placed second with a 5:45 pace and Mason Rouillard placed third with a 5:46 pace.  This was the second time in Norton High’s history that the boys beat the Panthers.  The Lancers …

Holliston Boys Soccer Defeats Norton

Panthers get second win with 5-1 verdict over Lancers on rainy Friday afternoon.

Playing its best all-around game of the season, the Holliston High boys’ soccer team defeated Norton, 5-1, in a Tri-Valley League match on a rainy Friday afternoon at Adams Field in Norton. The win improved the Panthers’ record to 2-1-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the league, while the Lancers dropped to 1-3-1 overall and in the TVL. “The kids have worked hard from day one,” said Holliston head coach Jay Dupuis. “They put it all together today. It was a total team effort. The kids played well in all aspects of the game. It was our best performance of the year so far.
