Wheaton Alumni Party Raises Noise Concerns The Norton Board of Selectmen approved two one-day alcohol permits for a function at Wheaton College on May 17, but with some contention. Selectmen vice chair Robert Kimball raised his concern about an ongoing issue with the noise level at certain parties. “We don’t care that you go out and have a good time, as long as [the students] don’t scream,” he said. One was a white male wearing a red shirt and jeans. The other was a black male wearing a dark colored jacket. The two males proceeded to the front display case and placed approximately 20 assorted bra's ($55.00 a piece) into a Eastern Mountain Sports bag and then left the store without paying. What's New for the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce in June

A list of Chamber happenings in Norton, Foxborough and Mansfield.

Congratulations to the Town of Norton for making such terrific progress on its High School renovation project. The Tri Town Chamber board of directors greatly appreciated Greg Smolley from JCJ Architecture and Tom O’Neill from project management company Pinck and Company stopping by to provide an update on the project. Norton continues the tradition of celebrating its status as one of the oldest communities in the state. Building upon last year’s Tricentennial, the town is slated to celebrate Founders Day by way of a picnic and fireworks on Saturday, June 23. Chamber Ambassador and Nortonian Bill Lippincott from Merrill Lynch is once again taking a lead role in organizing the event. Two weeks prior to Norton’s event, the town of Foxborough…

NHS Boys' Tennis Drop Match to Foxborough

The Lancers are now 1-1 after losing 4-1 to the Warriors.

This time last year, the Norton Lancers had no problem putting away the Foxborough Warriors boys' tennis team with a 4-1 victory against their foe out of the Hockomock League. A year later, the tables have turned as the Warriors beat the Lancers 4-1 behind an impressive performance by their singles players.  Things looked rough from the beginning for the Lancers after first singles player P.J. Levesque was forced to play with a broken racket against Foxborough's Wes Young. After falling 2-6 to Young, Levesque almost rallied back in the second set but couldn't get past Young, losing 4-6.  "If PJ's racket didn't break, I think it would of been a different story. Mansfield Completes Crossroads District Vote

Mansfield becomes fourth town to approve the filing of an application for creation of combined veteran's services district

  Mansfield became the fourth town to officially approve the filing of an application to the state veterans services department for the creation of a combined veteran's services district at their regular meeting on Wednesday. The group, now dubbed the Crossroads Veteran's Services District, was first mentioned by Mansfield Town Manager Bill Ross in September, and the board unanimously endorsed the concept. Ross had been contacted by Foxborough, whose new part time veterans agent Michael Johns was assisting Norton along with Mansfield agent John Hogan, in the absence of a full time agent of its own. Norton had been sharing an agent, Stephen Nolan, with Easton, but Nolan left suddenly. Since the concept was first discussed, Foxborough has …
