2013 Founders Day Picnic to be Discussed at Selectmen Meeting

The Founder’s Day Picnic is right around the corner and organizers are gearing up to make it a fun day for all ages. The picnic will take place Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Henri A. Yelle Elementary School from 5 to 9 p.m. Rain date is June 30. Admission is free. Here is a schedule of events: 5 p.m.: Founder’s Day kick off celebration- Let the festivities begin! 5 to 7:30 p.m.: Hot air balloon rides will be offered for $10 a ride per person. Rides will go 30 to 60 feet in the air and will last three to five minutes, weather permitting. 5 to 8 p.m.: Twenty-five antique cars will be lined up on the east side of the grounds for your viewing pleasure. 5 to 8:30 p.m.: Local bands will take the stage and provide musical entertainment. 5 to 7 p.m…

Following on the heels of a successful Norton 300th Birthday Community Picnic in 2011, Norton Parks and Recreation announces the 2012 Founders Day Annual Picnic and fireworks slated for June 23, 2012 at Henri A. Yelle Elementary School. From 5 to 9 p.m., area residents can enjoy a local vendor food court, dunk tank on the Midway, Fire Department demonstrations, local music, games, face painting, an All-Star softball game, hot air balloon rides, hay rides, pony rides and more.
