It was a successful night for Norton swimming against Dighton-Rehoboth last night as girls won 83-69 and boys 83-30. Norton had several personal bests. Colby Sears dropped 7 seconds in his 200 freestyle on the way to a personal best. Peter Daniels dropped more than 20 seconds in his 500 freestyle on his way to a second place finish. Eric Sanford finished only 3 seconds shy of the school record in the 500 freestyle in only his first attempt at that event. The girls 400 freestyle relay team of Cassidy McDonald, Kayla Lantos, Olivia Karcis, and Madie Thomson set a school record in that event, winning it in 4:36.09. “Several swimmers stepped up and swam a variety of new or tough events in order to help us secure the win,” said coach Kim Bray…
Lancers and Falcons face off in drills and short scrimmage on Saturday.
After three days of conditioning and two days of hitting each other, the Norton High football team got the opportunity to hit someone else on Saturday morning as the entire squad scrimmaged against Dighton-Rehoboth behind the Yelle Elementary School. It was actually more of a controlled practice and scrimmage between the Lancers and the Falcons on Saturday as both squads participated in blocking, offensive and defensive drills before taking part in a quick scrimmage. “Today I wanted to see what we had worked on for the last five days,” said Norton head coach Ted Currle. “I wanted to see how well we executed and I also wanted to see kids flying around and hitting someone.
