Don't Believe The State On Train Path
Attleboro/Norton route rejected, but we've heard that before.
You’ll have to forgive me if I greet the news that the state has once again rejected the Attleboro/Norton route for the proposed commuter line extension with a doubtful look and huge yawn. Frankly, this is a movie we’ve all seen many times before, and it just never seems to end. For decades now, state officials have been pretending to give serious consideration to extending train service from Boston to the Fall River/New Bedford area. They do so to appease local officials in the southeastern part of the Commonwealth, and to try and convince voters they are serious about reaching out to that economically disadvantaged area.
