The results of this week’s Best Of series are in! This week’s poll garnered 114 votes and nine reviews with Bridget’s An Irish Tradition topping the charts for the Best Place to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Trinity had a solid run earning second place and 25 votes. McMahon’s Countryside Grille tried to get redemption after week one’s epic battle, but was unable to overcome the competition and ended up in third place with eight votes. Trinity has one four-star rating in our Places section. They are counting down to St. Patrick’s Day by serving a boiled dinner now through March 17. Bridget's Offers Unique Gift for Kids this Holiday Season

  With the holiday shopping season now in full swing, local businesses, such as Bridget’s - An Irish Tradition, are gearing up the best way they know how - stocking up on gifts that are hard to find. “We have plenty of new merchandise,” said owner Bridget Daly, who also expanded her store recently. While the most popular items are Claddagh rings and other Celtic jewelry, Bridget’s has a unique item that is somewhat elusive...the 3D Doodle Pad. The only place to get the 3D book in Massachusetts is at her store. Bridget is lucky enough to have the item in stock because the creator is her nephew, Hollywood animator Donnachada Daly. “It uses special paper that makes the drawings 3D,” explained 14-year-old Bridget Mulligan, who owns the pad. “…

Our first stop is Olde Thyme Shoppe, a Norton staple founded in 1983, located at 370 Old Colony Road. Olde Thyme Shoppe is a Victorian-style gift shop and greenhouse that harkens back to the era that inspires it. Period-specific music plays as customers browse though the shop, jam-packed with all things Victorian, including dresses, china and tea sets, aromatherapy products, hand bags, wedding gifts, gift baskets and household goods.
