Taking One for the Team

Brandon Morabito meets sixth round New England Patriots draft pick Nate Ebner after being booed at Radio City Hall.

If calling out the 197th sixth round New England Patriots draft pick at Radio City Music Hall wasn’t enough, 10-year-old Brandon Morabito can add meeting rookie Nate Ebner to his list of great moments. This past April, Brandon announced the Patriots draft pick and was booed by the New York City crowd. Instead of taking the negative reception to heart, Brandon responded with a smile and yelled the pick even louder. As a result, Brandon, his brother, mother and father were invited as special guests at the Patriots training camp. “Brandon had an amazing day,” said his father, Mark Morabito. “We sat in the VIP tent and were allowed on the field for the last few minutes of practice.” Brandon and his brother Ryan had photos taken with punter …

Norton Youth Welcomes Nate Ebner to the Patriots

Rookie chosen in sixth round of the NFL draft.

Norton youth Brandon Morabito got the chance of a lifetime this weekend, as he was able to select Ohio State defensive back Nate Ebner with the 197th pick in the sixth round of the NFL draft. Some New York faithful in attendance booed Brandon and the pick, but it did not dishearten him.   “Brandon responded with a smile and yelled the pick even louder,” said his father, Mark. “We were so proud.” Despite the booing, Brandon enjoyed every minute of it.  His mother, Jennifer, was a little shaken after seeing thousands boo, but Brandon quickly calmed her when she saw his huge smile.
