New Testament Students Practice Random Act of Kindness

Christian school students bake cookies and deliver them to town workers.

Prior to Thanksgiving break, upper school students at New Testament Christian School in Norton wanted to show their appreciation for others. Together, the class baked cookies for to be delivered to employees in the Town of Norton. The sweet smell of the holidays wafted down the halls of the small Christian school as brownies and various flavors of cookies baked in the school cafeteria.   “The students enjoyed doing something different during the school day and worked hard mixing the dough and even cleaning up, all while having a few laughs along the way,” said upper school academic enhancement instructor Amy Rogers. “Even to boys got involved. Freshman Kyle Perry had an 'Edward Scissorhand' approach to shaping the cookies with two spoons. …

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

In Thanksgiving, For Each Other

Letter to the editor from Rep. Jay Barrows.

Even in the toughest of times, the human spirit never fails.   Just this past weekend, I was honored to attend a variety of events around my district where the generosity of our friends’ and neighbors’ time, talent and resources was on full display.  In Foxborough, the Annual BIT school fundraising event saw a turnout of 400 parents, school administrators, and supporters. Simultaneously, parents in Mansfield were doing the same good work for their elementary schools. Both events are run by extraordinary volunteers, primarily hard-working mothers, who spend months planning and finding new ways to earn additional dollars for their children and are largely successful.  Thank you. I also joined the Mansfield Pop Warner Awards Night this …

Patch Recipes: Simple Cranberry Sauce

It is possible for those whose cooking experience is limited to stirring ramen noodles to contribute a tasty food item to the Thanksgiving meal. The following recipe for cranberry sauce is from my mother …
