Men’s Swimming & Diving Earns CSCAA Team Scholar All-America Award

Lyons post 3.13 cumulative grade point average.

The Wheaton College men's swimming and diving team has been named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Team Scholar All-America list. The Lyons compiled a 3.13 cumulative grade point average (GPA) to earn a spot on the list among 63 other NCAA Division III programs. Two additional programs from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) also made the list including Clark University and Springfield College. Clark posted the highest GPA of any NCAA Division III team at 3.60. Academically, junior Matt Sexton (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack)highlights the squad in the classroom after earning his second-career NEWMAC Academic All-Conference award this season. Women's Swimming & Diving Places Sixth Overall

Lyons score 263 points over three-day championship.

The Wheaton College women's swimming and diving team wrapped up its 2012-13 season with a sixth place finish at the conclusion of the 2013 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted by MIT, at the Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center on Sunday evening.  MIT captured its third-straight conference title with 1,021 points. Springfield College placed second with 740 points, Wellesley College ranked third (457), Coast Guard was fourth (358) and Mount Holyoke College rounded out the top-5 with 286 points. Men's Swimming & Diving Finishes Sixth Overall in NEWMAC

Lyons establish new school record in 400-yard freestyle relay.

The Wheaton College men's swimming and diving team came in sixth place overall at the conclusion of the 2013 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted by MIT, at the Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center on Sunday evening.  MIT claimed its fifth-straight conference championship title with 1,178 points over the three-day event. Springfield College finished second overall with 658.50 points, Coast Guard ranked third overall with 542 points, WPI was fourth with 477 points and Babson College had 397.50 points for fifth place overall. Men’s Swimming & Diving NEWMAC Championships Preview

Lyons look to improve on last season's seventh place finish.

The Wheaton College men's swimming and diving team will compete in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on Thursday, February 14-Sunday, February 17, hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), at the Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center. Different from years past, the championship will commence on Thursday night with the preliminary rounds of the men's one-meter diving event. On Friday morning, preliminary heats for both swimming and diving events will start at 10:00 a.m., with consolation and championship heats taking place in the evening at 6:00 p.m. The same format will hold true for Saturday and Sunday of the NEWMAC Championships. Women’s Swimming And Diving Finishes Strong At Wheaton Invitational

Lyons look to NEWMAC Championships on Feb. 15 to 17.

The Wheaton College women's swimming and diving team concluded day two of the Wheaton Invitational with 13 finishes inside the top-10 on Saturday evening at the Balfour Natatorium. The Lyons hosted Clark University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Tufts University in this weekend's non-scoring invitational. Senior Caroline Isaacs (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty)contributed to three separate top-10 finishes in the 400-yard individual medley, the 200-yard backstroke and the 400-yard freestyle relay. In the 400-yard IM, Isaacs placed third overall with a time of 4:55.06. Men's Swimming and Diving End Regular Season On High Note

The Wheaton College men's swimming and diving team concluded day two of the Wheaton Invitational with 14 finishes inside the top-10 on Saturday evening at the Balfour Natatorium. The Lyons hosted Clark University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Tufts University in this weekend's non-scoring invitational. Sophomore diver Ben Oliveri (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury)headlined the Lyons' efforts once again on day two with a pair of school record breaking performances. Oliveri took down Charlie Maier's (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Regional) record in the one-meter dive (11 dives) event with a total score of 471.35 points. Swimming And Diving To Host Wheaton Invitational This Weekend

Lyons will welcome three teams to Balfour Natatorium.

The Wheaton College men's and women's swimming & diving teams are set to host the Wheaton Invitational on Friday, February 1 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, February 2 at 11 a.m. inside the Balfour Natatorium. The Lyons will welcome Tufts University, Clark University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to the pool this weekend. WHEATON (M/W): On the men's side, sophomore Ben Oliveri(Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) is coming off of a school record performance in the Lyons last dual meet against Tufts University on January 26 in Medford, Mass. Men’s Swimming And Diving Falls To Babson

Neill claims first place in 50-freestyle on Senior Night.

The Wheaton College men's swimming and diving team fell to Babson College, 116-83, on "Senior Night" at the Balfour Natatorium on Friday evening. Prior to the dual meet, seniors Griffin Hanley (Andover, Mass./North Andover) and Sam Neill (Ludlow, Mass./Belchertown) were honored for their contributions towards the swimming and diving program.  Neill earned first place honors in the 50-freestyle with a time of 22.68-seconds while Hanley was sixth overall in 23.97-seconds. Women’s Swimming & Diving Downs Babson

Isaacs wins three individual events for Lyons.

Wheaton College senior Caroline Isaacs (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) won three individual events to the women's swimming and diving team past Babson College, 149-92, on "Senior Night" at the Balfour Natatorium.  Prior to the dual meet against the Beavers, seniors Dana Auger(Milford, Mass./Milford), Isaacs, Julia Kusiak Carey (Shawmut, Maine/Lawrence), Kirstie Parkinson (Singapore, Singapore/Singapore American School) and Elle Van Cott(Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) were all honored for their contributions towards the swimming and diving program.  Isaacs earned first place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:08.57), 200-yard individual medley (2:19.22) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.55). Trinity Defeats Wheaton Women's Swimming And Diving

Lyons lose 160-74.

The Wheaton College women's swimming and diving team fell to Trinity College, 160-74, on Saturday afternoon at the Trinity Natatorium.  Senior Caroline Isaacs (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) turned in the top performance for the Lyons on the afternoon winning the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:20.63 ahead of freshman teammate Ceara Bowman (Centerville, Mass./Portsmouth Abbey School) who placed second (11:43.20).  Isaacs also placed second overall in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:35.79. Bowman came in second overall in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:40.87 and senior Julia Kusiak Carey (Shawmut, Maine/Lawrence) placed fourth in the event (5:43.15).  In the 200-yard backstroke, senior Elle Van Cott (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) …
