Men’s Basketball Turned Away By Springfield College On Senior Day [VIDEO]

Johnson records double-double in final career contest.

The Wheaton College men's basketball was dealt a 64-49 loss by Springfield College on Saturday afternoon in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action at Emerson Gymnasium on "Senior Day." Prior to the game, seniors Brian Johnson (Roxbury, Mass./Brimmer and May School), Scott Faucher (Lebanon, N.H./Kimball Union Academy), Phil Gensicki (North Haven, Conn./Notre Dame) and Mike Hall (Lynnfield, Mass./Saint John's Prep) were all honored for their contributions towards the men's basketball program. Four-year student administrative assistant Caitlin Hampton (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) was also honored for before tip-off for her assistance to the program. Norton Girls Track Earns Big Win Over Millis

Lancers rebound from loss earlier in the week to Medfield by beating Millis on Thursday.

A mark of a good team is how it responds to a loss. The Norton High girls’ outdoor track team has lost two Tri-Valley League dual meets this spring, but in each instance the Lancers have responded with a victory in their next meet. The second such case came on Senior Day Thursday afternoon when Norton rebounded from a defeat to Medfield earlier in the week to claim a 110-18 victory over Millis in a league dual meet at Norton High School. The Lancers suffered a 90-46 setback to the Warriors on Monday in Medfield, but their big win over the Mohawks on Thursday improved their league dual-meet mark to 5-2. “We moved some kids around today and everyone did a good job,” said Norton coach Dick Seibert, whose team swept the 100 meters, high jump …
