Bids Open for Everett Leonard Park Maintenance

Deadline March 20.

The Town of Norton, through its Board of Selectmen, is accepting sealed bids for repair and maintenance services associated with the Everett Leonard Park complex on Parker Street. Specifications and bid forms are available at the Town Manager's Office, Norton Municipal Center, 70 E. Main St., 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Sealed bids marked with the bidders name and designation "Everett Leonard Park" on the outside envelope must be no later than 11 a.m. March 20 at the Town Manager's Office. Bids will be opened and read aloud at the time and may be held for a period of 30 days from the date of opening. Bidders must bid on all items. What's Going on Near the Reservoir Street Dam?

Embankment repairs being done.

Patch readers Catherine Webber and Linda Davis recently asked what kind of work is being done to the Reservoir Street dam. “Fall Town Meeting members approved the capital improvement budget to include the embankment repairs at the location,” answered conservation agent Jennifer Corlino. Per the Office of Dam Safety regulations, all woody vegetation along the embankment will be removed and re-vegetated with loam and seed. T Ford Company is installing footings, a training wall and a drain at the toe of the slope on one side of the dam and stabilizing the embankment on the other side with stone.
