Norton High Wrestlers Eighth in Marshfield Tournament

The Norton High wrestling team will open up the Tri-Valley League season Thursday at Hopkinton.

A good team effort resulted in an eighth place (out of 33 teams) finish for the Norton High wrestling team in the Marshfield Holiday Wrestling Tournament. Despite not having any tournament championsfor the first time in four years, the Lancers placed wrestlers in the top eight in their weight classes. Ahrayah Saintius and Myles McAlpine were eighth at 120 and 152-pounds. respectively, while JT Taylor, Jack Cuneo and Mike Travers finished sixth at 145, 160, and 182. Stephen Hudson was fourth at 285 as a result of an injury default.  Russell Hansen (132), Brett Pike (138), Elliott Johnson (182), Tim Casagni (195) all won matches but did not place.    North Andover won the team championship ahead of Plymouth South, North Attleboro, …

1. According to WHDH, the rain will be tapering off in the afternoon with temperatures ranging from 36-48. 2. The Norton Public Library will be holding a Star Wars Symposium, Saturday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. 3. The Norton High wrestling team will be taking part in the Marshfield Tournament today and Friday. 4. The Children's Museum in Easton is having Family New Year's Eve Parties 2012, Dec. 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be magic shows, 11 a.m., noon, 2 and 3 p.m., confetti blast countdowns at 1 and 4 p.m., balloon artist and face painting for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pizza and drinks will be available.
