Norton FD Assists With Car Fire in Easton

The Norton Fire Department responded to a fire that caused extensive damage Wednesday afternoon.

There were no injuries, but extensive damage was caused as a result of a car fire at 51 Kathleen Grant Way in Easton Wednesday afternoon. The Norton Fire Department assisted with the call. The Easton Fire Department rushed to the scene at approximately 12:30 p.m., Easton Fire Chief Kevin Partridge said. Five minutes after arrival, the fire was put down. "They did an excellent job," Partridge said. Partridge said a car caught fire and it extended to the garage. Soot extended to the house and the chief's estimated cost of damage was $150,000. Easton's fire department received assistance from Norton, Mansfield and Stoughton.

Norton Firefighter Academy Graduate

Norton Firefighter to Graduate From State Firefighting Academy

Nearly 70 firefighters will graduate from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy on March 29 in Stow.

Several dozen firefighters, including Jonathan Drobnis from Norton Fire Department, will graduate from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy in late March, according to a press statement from the academy.
