George Burgess vying for Planning Board while Mark Powers and Daniel Sheedy go for School Committee.
George F. Burgess, Mark Powers and Daniel Sheedy have dropped their names in the hat for this year’s annual town election. Burgess has taken out papers for the Planning Board. He is on the ballot next to incumbent David Miller for one of three seats available. Powers and Sheedy will be up against current School Committee chairperson Andrew Mackie and nominee Valerie Desmond. There are two three-year terms available. Several people have already begun their road to election day by obtaining nomination papers. Incumbents Robert Kimball Jr. and Robert Salvo Sr. are looking to be reelected while George Gillis is also vying for a seat. School Committee chairperson Andrew Mackie is seeking reelection while Beth McManus’ seat is being eyed by Valerie Desmond. Ralph Stefanelli and Robert Salvo Sr. are both trying to keep their Housing Authority positions. With nomination papers for the Norton Town Election due in less than a week, more candidates are joining the race. Incumbents Bradford Bramwell and Timothy Giblin are aiming to keep their seats on the Board of Selectmen while James Dinsel is running for one of the three-year terms. Danielle Sicard will be will be vying for the Town Clerk seat once again, unopposed.
