U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy III Opens Congressional Art Competition for Fourth District Students

The deadline to submit artwork to Kennedy's Newton office is April 19, 2013.

Think your artwork is good enough to hang in the U.S. Capitol? Congressman Joe Kennedy III announced last week his office is participating in the annual Congressional Art Competition, a high school visual arts contest.  Now through April 19, 2013, high school students in the Fourth Congressional District can submit paintings, drawings, collages, computer-generated art, prints, mixed media and photography pieces to Kennedy's office on Crafts Street in Newton. An independent arts panel that includes several artists and art professionals from across the Fourth District will select a finalist for each media category. Norton Selects Bielat, Kennedy

Unofficial primary results for the Town of Norton.

Norton voted in line with the rest of Massachusetts during the congressional primary Thursday, Sept. 6, casting their ballots for Democrat Joseph Kennedy III and Republican Sean Bielat. According to the unofficial results supplied by Town Clerk Danielle Sicard, Kennedy walked away with 455 votes against fellow democrats Rachel Brown who earned 41 and Herb Robinson who garnered 10. While Bielat nabbed 421 votes, Republicans David Steinhof had 96 and Elizabeth Childs had 24. U.S. Senate incumbent Scott Brown received 538 votes to Democrat Elizabeth Warren’s 464. For the contested second district Democratic Councillor race, Bart Timilty received the majority of votes at 197. He beat out Robert Jubinville who had 129, Brian Clinton who …

For David Schuler his is Town Spa in Stoughton, about 1,400 miles away from his Madison, Mississippi home. But that doesn't prevent Schuler, a Stoughton native, from enjoying a slice (or more) of his favorite hometown pizza. Schuler made headlines last August when he drove from his home in Madison, Miss. (north of Jackson, Miss.) to Town Spa and back again to pick up an order of 150 pizzas. He upped the ante this year by placing an order of 250 pizzas. Seven Norton Democratic Delegates Elected at Caucus

Democratic caucus determines delegates to represent Bristol and Norfolk Senatorial District at the Senatorial Convention this upcoming fall

Fifteen registered Norton Democrats filled Norton High School’s colorfully decorated library on Thursday night to hold a caucus. Amidst inspirationally painted ceiling tiles created by artistically inclined high school students, Norton’s active democrats proceeded to elect seven delegates to contribute to the representation of the Bristol and Norfolk Senatorial District at the Senatorial Convention this upcoming fall.   At 6:45 p.m., attendees began to file into Norton High’s Library for the caucus.  Those interested in being elected were permitted to invite friends and neighbors to attend and lend them their vote, provided they had been registered democrats since at least the 31st of December.  However, a lack of interest in political …
