Project part of ongoing Norton Brownie Quest.
Norton Girl Scouts troop #75395 collected donations for Norton Animal Shelter as part of an ongoing project earlier this month. The girls went through their neighborhood on the K Streets and placed flyers along with trash bags by people's homes May 2. Donations of bleach, pet food, cat litter, towels and more were collected. “The residents are super friendly and as you could see, very generous,” said Krisan Pope, troop co-leader. While some neighbors dropped things at Pope’s house, the rest was collected May 11 and a dozen or so bags of goodies were delivered to Norton Animal Shelter May 16. After they dropped off the supplies, the Girl Scouts were able to play with the cats at the shelter. The community service project was part of a year-…

Multicultural celebration held at Trinitarian Congregational Church Saturday, Feb. 25.
If you walked into the basement of Trinitarian Congregational Church Saturday, Feb. 25, you essentially took a trip around the world with the Girl Scouts of Norton for World Thinking Day. You could walk to Japan and learn oragami and eat edamae with Daisy Troop 65493 and then spend some time in Italy with Junior Troop 80463 to play "Name the Pasta!" World Thinking Day is a multicultural celebration originally created in 1926, but this is the first time in recent history it has been celebrated in Norton. Eleven troops participated and 14 countries were represented. “The importance of World Thinking Day is to recognize the Girl Scouts around the world, and that they have sisters that are Girl Scouts in every country,” said Norton resident …

This next statement is sure to make your mouth water: Girl Scout cookies are on sale. From now until March, you can place orders for your favorite cookies, including favorites like Thin Mints, Caramel DeLites, Peanut Butter Patties, and Thanks-A-Lots. Girl Scout cookies are $4 a box. Search on the Girl Scouts' web site for locations. And a note to local Girl Scouts: spread the word about locations and sales on Patch.
