No New Foreclosure Deeds in Norton

Norton had nine new foreclosure petitions in May, compared to four last May.

There were 31 year-to-date foreclosure petitions this May, up from 15 in 2011. Norton had zero foreclosure deeds in May of 2012 compared to five last year. The town's year-to-date foreclosure petitions total 1, down from 12 in May 2011, The Warren Group said in a recent press release. Statewide, foreclosure petitions "more than doubled year-over-year - rising to 1,724 from 699 in May 2011. Petitions have surpassed the 1,000 mark every month since July," the firm reported. Statewide, foreclosure deeds "increased more than 32 percent to 755 in May from 571 in May 2011," The Warren Group reported. February Foreclosures Jump in Norton

Foreclosure numbers were stable year-over-year in town.

The number of newly started and completed foreclosures jumped in Norton for February, according to data released Wednesday. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, had Norton's foreclosure petitions (which represent new foreclosures) at six in February. Last February there were none. Foreclosure deeds, or completed foreclosures, fell from one to zero. The state saw a doubling of foreclosure petitions year-over-year, from 694 in February 2011 to 1,394 in February 2012. Foreclosure deeds were up 41 percent, from 521 last year to 736 last month. Completed Foreclosures Down in Norton, State for 2011

Foreclosure petitions fell significantly.

Completed foreclosures in Norton fell by about 48 percent in 2011, according to numbers released today. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, had foreclosure deeds, which represent completed foreclosures, fall from 39 in 2010 to 25 last year. Foreclosure petitions were at 80 in 2010 and 42 in 2011 for Norton. Statewide, the number of completed foreclosures fell by more than 30 percent for the year. There were 8,526 foreclosures in 2011, down from 12,238 in 2010. Petitions fell from 23,931 to 12,634. Norton saw a decrease in the number of newly-started and completed foreclosures during the month of November, according to numbers released today. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, had foreclosure petitions, which represent the start of the foreclosure process, fall from seven in November 2010 to two in November 2011. Foreclosure deeds, or completed foreclosures, were up slightly, from zero to one over the same time period. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, showed that the number of foreclosure petitions (which represent newly started foreclosures) fell from five in October 2010 to two last month. Foreclosure deeds, or completed foreclosures, went up from one to two over the same time period. Massachusetts saw petitions increase by 5.9 percent for the month (from 1,193 last year to 1,127 last month). Deeds went up 35.7 percent, from 557 to 756. Norton saw the number of its started and completed foreclosures decrease in the month of September, according to data released today. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, showed that foreclosure petitions (which represent newly started foreclosures) declined from six in September 2010 to three last month. Foreclosure deeds, or completed foreclosures, dropped from five to two over the same time period. The state also saw a drop in both petitions and deeds. Foreclosures fell from 2,358 last September to 1,164 last month (a 51 percent drop), while deeds declined from 890 to 737. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, had foreclosure petitions (newly started foreclosures) in town falling from six in August 2010 to five in August 2011. Foreclosure deeds, which represent completed foreclosures, also declined year-over-year, from five to two. Both newly started and completed foreclosures in Norton increased in June, according to data released yesterday. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, showed an increase in foreclosure petitions (which represent new foreclosures) from four last year to five in June. Foreclosure deeds — or completed foreclosures — increased  sharply, from one to four. Statewide, deeds fell by more than 29 percent (from 1,315 in June 2010 to 931 in June 2011), and petitions dropped by 55 percent (2,220 to 990). The number of completed foreclosures decreased in Norton for the month of April, according to real estate data released today. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, showed foreclosure deeds, which represent completed foreclosures, decreased  from five in April 2010 to zero last month. Foreclosure petitions, which are recently started foreclosures, fell from nine last year to five last month. Statewide, foreclosure petitions fell year-over-year, from 2,431 last year to 1,192 in April. That total, though, represents the highest figure thus far this year. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, had foreclosure petitions, which start the foreclosure process, falling in Norton from five last year to zero in February. Foreclosure deeds, which represent completed foreclosures, dropped from two to one over the same time period. The number of completed foreclosures fell by 44 percent in Massachusetts, from 917 last year to 515 in February.  The state's foreclosure deeds declined as well, from 2,122 to 694.
