Accident took place at N. Worcester and W. Main Street Feb. 27.
Norton Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles at the intersection of N. Worcester Street and W. Main Street Wednesday afternoon. A vehicle, operated by Paul Reardon, 65, of Raynham, was entering W. Main Street form N. Worcester Street when it struck the passenger side of a vehicle traveling westbound on W. Main Street at about 3:45 p.m. That vehicle was then pushed into the eastbound lane, striking an oncoming vehicle head on. One male was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital by the Norton Fire Department for minor injuries. His name was not released by police. No other injuries were reported. Reardon was cited in the crash. The accident is under investigation by Patrolman Jesse Winters.

A Norton woman was injured in a car accident early Sunday morning. On Dec. 2 at 12:20 a.m., Norton Police and Fire responded to the area of 81 Cobb St. for a report of a motor vehicle crash. The operator of the vehicle, James Doherty, 65, of East Street, Foxborough, attempted to negotiate the sharp turn on Cobb Street, but lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. A 58-year-old female rear passenger from Norton was transported to Sturdy Hospital by the Norton Fire Department for non-life threatening injuries. No other occupants in the vehicle were injured. An accident at Chartley Four Corners lead to an arrest by Norton police officers Thursday night. On Nov. 29, at 10:35 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of W. Main Street and S. Worcester Street. Two vehicles were reported to be involved in the crash. No one was injured. After an initial investigation, police discovered that a Jeep Wrangler, operated by Eric Jette, 25, of S. Main Street, Attleboro, had drifted into the oncoming lane of travel. The other vehicle, a Chevrolet Impala, had to cross into the opposite lane of travel in an attempt to avoid a head on collision. The Jeep sideswiped the oncoming vehicle, causing it to spin around and caused heavy damage. Jette was placed under arrest at the scene …

Early Saturday morning, a driver allegedly drove through a stop sign, hitting a police vehicle. At approximately 2:04 a,m., Norton patrolman Nicholas Crugnale was travelling westbound on W. Main Street in a marked police vehicle when a Toyota Camry allegedly exited Oak Street without stopping at the stop sign, and struck the front end of the police vehicle. The Camry, operated by Patrick Traverse, 19, of 3 Brookwood lane, Norton, struck the vehicle and continued through the travel lane, striking a tree in front of 232 W. Main St. before coming to rest. *UPDATE 5:01 p.m.* Route 495, which was closed after a motorcycle accident occured, has been reopened. Traffic is being diverted around exit 10, where the crash happened, through Route 123 in Norton back to exit 12. "The highway is open now so I think that traffic is flowing fine on the highway," said Norton Police Lieutenant Todd Jackson. A 20-year old Norton man is cited for leaving the scene of Sunday's fatal on Route 24 where a Needham pedestrian was struck and killed.
Massachusetts State Police have issued a citation to the man who was allegedly operating the vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian on Route 24 northbound in Randolph early Sunday morning. Shane Wilson, 20, of Norton was issued a citation with a single charge of leaving the scene after causing personal injury resulting in death, David Traub, spokesman for Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey, said in a press release. 29-year-old Adam T. Trudeau of Needham was said to have been standing in the roadway on the northbound side of Route 24 when he was struck by Wilson's vehicle. Norton Police and Fire Departments responded to two motor vehicle crashes over the weekend. At 11 p.m. Saturday, Sergeant Robert Whitfield of Norton Police Department was monitoring traffic and conducting radar at the intersection of Taunton Avenue and E. Main Street in a marked cruiser when he observed a pick-up truck lose control as it attempted to turn onto Taunton Avenue. The truck traveled over the sidewalk and crashed through a fence in front of the Unitarian Church. The operator, Eric Charron, 27, of Highland Street, Taunton, was placed under arrest by Sgt. Passengers transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
At approximately 4 p.m. Monday, there were reports of a three-car crash in front of Mansfield Bank at 225 W. Main St., Norton. Three passengers were transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with injuries. Two were transported by Norton Fire Department and one from Mansfield Fire Department. Despite some rumors circulating on Facebook saying otherwise, Medflight was not involved. While the accident did cause a traffic jam, it was cleared up in about 40 minutes. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Memorial of 12-year-old girl who died in a crash Thursday.
When a child passes away, it has a great impact on the community in which he or she lived. Such is the case in Norton where 12-year-old Angel Pina resided before she died in a violent car crash Thursday afternoon. Angel was a fifth grader at the H.A. Yelle Elementary School and was scheduled to attend Norton Middle School in September. She leaves behind many friends and family including three siblings and her mother, Sandra Ouellette. Angel was described as being a talented athlete who enjoyed cheerleading. "Angel Pina was a caring, kind hearted member of our junior level 1 team at Cheer Nation,” said Erica Carbonneau, coach of Cheer Nation. “She will be greatly missed.
