Police Arrest Man Caught Stealing Copper Piping

Anthony Enos, of Taunton, charged with breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, more than $250 in malicious damage of property and less than $250 in larceny of property.

Police caught a man stealing copper piping from a local business Wednesday afternoon, leading to his arrest. On Nov. 21, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Norton Police responded to 47 Elm St. for a report of a possible breaking and entering. An employee of Eureka Manufacturing was at the vacant building checking on the premises when he heard noises coming from inside the building and called police. Sergeant Robert Whitfield, patrolman David Ruskey and patrolman John Chmielinski responded and observed an open door to the rear of the building. Officers entered the building and approached a male inside carrying a duffel bag. The male suspect, Anthony Enos, 22, of Bay Street, Taunton, was placed under arrest. Attleboro Duo Tries to Remove Piping, Wiring from Campbell House

On Friday, Norton police arrested two subjects at the Campbell House who were attempting to remove piping and wires from the historic site. At 12:38 p.m. March 9, Detective Jeffrey Zaccardi observed a suspicious looking male and female on the property of 217 West Main St., known as the Campbell house in front of the Norton Middle School. Patrolman Scott Sweeting and Patrolman David Ruskey responded to assist Zaccardi. Officers noticed a door to the house to be open and searched the vacant building. Officers encountered the pair in the building and placed them under arrest. Officers discovered that the two were attempting to remove copper piping and electrical wires from the building.
