Best Of Norton Readers' Choice

Tell Us Your Favorite Businesses in Norton

Our new Best of Patch series kicks off on Monday.

Patch is unveiling Best of Patch next week, which will allow readers to vote for their favorite businesses and places in Norton. Each Monday morning, we will post an article with a poll and ask readers to take part by voting in the poll and posting reviews on those businesses’ directory listings on Patch. Because polls are not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. On Friday morning, we will announce the winner of the Best Of contest for that week. For our first Best of Patch next week, we will ask you: Where is the best place to get fit in Norton? Check back next …

Local Reader Wins Snow Sculpture Contest

Jennifer O'Keefe resurrects college entry with family.

By a mailbox right near the Taunton and Norton line, if you are lucky, you may spot Fred the Dragon, created out of snow by the O'Keefe Family. But this isn't the first time Fred has come out to play. "Fred the Dragon was born 20 years ago when I went to college and my residence hall assistant signed our floor up for a snow sculpture contest the college was doing as a fun event for its full-time on-campus students," Jennifer O'Keefe said. "All of us sat around looking at the pile of snow we were assigned to, and someone said, ‘It kind of looks like a dragon....'" The students worked at the pile until they came up with an impressive entry and named it Fred. These days, Fred is recreated by O'Keefe and her two daughters, Samantha, 13, and …
