What's New for the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce in June

A list of Chamber happenings in Norton, Foxborough and Mansfield.

Congratulations to the Town of Norton for making such terrific progress on its High School renovation project. The Tri Town Chamber board of directors greatly appreciated Greg Smolley from JCJ Architecture and Tom O’Neill from project management company Pinck and Company stopping by to provide an update on the project. Norton continues the tradition of celebrating its status as one of the oldest communities in the state. Building upon last year’s Tricentennial, the town is slated to celebrate Founders Day by way of a picnic and fireworks on Saturday, June 23. Chamber Ambassador and Nortonian Bill Lippincott from Merrill Lynch is once again taking a lead role in organizing the event. Two weeks prior to Norton’s event, the town of Foxborough…

What will be New with the Tri Town Chamber of Commerce for April?

Tri Town Chamber of Commerce President John Bates gives an update.

Thanks to all the businesses, volunteers and attendees who helped to make Tri Town Chamber’s Home and Garden Show 2012 a success. Despite glorious weather and one less hour of sleep for booth owners, the whole event went even better than did the previous two H & G shows. For those who missed it, video “interviews” with booth owners will soon be available for free on the web. Great job Kris Jepsen and Pics2Pix! Last year we formed a marketing committee to find ways to help chamber members derive maximum benefit from participating in events. Our focus then was on premarketing the show and highlighting exhibitors via press releases and social media outlets. This year we have added the video element to help these businesses sustain visibility …

What will be New with the Tri Town Chamber of Commerce for March?

There is a lot planned for the upcoming month and 2012 as a whole.

We at the Tri Town Chamber are very excited about our new executive team and our plans for 2012. I am energized to start my second year as president in an increasingly robust local economy. One of my personal missions this year is to better educate local businesses on exactly what the Chamber is and does. So my next few articles will focus a little bit on what the Chamber is about while continuing to share what’s new.  Tri Town has two stellar full-time employees. Executive Director Kara Griffin handles everything having to do with day-to-day operations. This includes managing membership programs, community relations, staying abreast of development that affects our local economies, and organizing events. She is also landlord for our three …

What’s new with the Tri Town Chamber of Commerce for November?

A summary of Chamber happenings.

The Tri Town Chamber has just concluded our membership drive and would like to welcome 65 new members into the fold! The drive pitted eight teams of chamber members against each other to see who could attract the most new businesses. In a photo finish, Web Design by Robin’s Robin Clapp reinforced her stature as vice president of membership by leading her squad to victory. Individual honors went to Mansfield Bank’s Marianne Mackie who brought on six new members all by herself! Executive director Kara Griffin is already busy tripling the usual number of new member coffee meetings, while administrator extraordinaire Ruthie Briggs is vigorously hammering out new name tags and mailing labels. Special thanks go out to North Easton Savings Bank …

The Mega Business Expo offered the opportunity for exhibitors to promote their business to local prospects and for attendees to "reap the benefits of meeting face-to-face with hundreds of prospects in one central location."  The event included business after-hours gathering, free food, cash bar, seminars, and prizes. There can be a difference between what you and a health insurance company consider healthy. Some insurers will say that you have a health condition if you smoke, are overweight, are taking prescriptions, or had a medical condition in the past. If this describes you, you may want to search and read "Penny Health" on the web.   more ›

What’s new with the Tri Town Chamber of Commerce for July

A followup on past events and a look at what's coming.

The Tri Town Chamber was on hand to celebrate Norton’s 300th birthday by participating in the town’s parade on June 12. Norton residents Robin Clapp from Web Design by Robin and Ingrid Williams from Sharon Credit Union in Foxborough joined executive director Kara Griffin and yours truly to lead the Chamber Team. Several member businesses contributed floats, banners and marchers to help make it a very special event.   Not to be outdone, the Town of Foxborough celebrated birthday number 233 the day before, hosting its annual Foxborough Founders’ Day extravaganza on June 11.
