Summer memories could pay off for Back to School supplies.

The Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce will reward kids for their memories in the first Back to School Buy Local Contest. Between now and Aug. 15, children between the ages of 8 and 15 are encouraged to submit a 100 to 200 word essay on their favorite summer memory along with a photo or drawing. Three finalists will be chosen to have their entry posted on the Tri-Town Chamber blog where friends and family can vote for their favorite. The winner will be announced Aug. 27 and awarded a back to school grand prize totalling over $300 including a shopping spree at Mansfield Crossing. “This Saturday we’re encouraging shoppers to Buy Local and show it by taking a picture with the 2012 Tri-Town Chamber Member sticker and posting it on the Tri-Town Chamber Facebook Page,” said Kara Griffin, executive director for the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce.
