Students Get Jump Start at Feehan’s Summer Academy

Over 100 students reviewed curriculum and learn survival skills.

Bishop Feehan High School recently held its annual two-week long Summer Academic Academy for incoming freshmen.  Over 100 students chose to participate and enjoyed many opportunities for learning the ropes of a new campus by participating in group activities to enhance social interaction, reviewing math and English curriculum and learning “survival” skills. Those skills included how to take notes, how to use the library, how to stay motivated and how to avoid discipline problems.  “The Summer Academic Academy has been a great success each year. Whether the kids realize it or not, it gives them the confidence to start the year off on the right foot and helps to eliminate the first-day-of-school jitters,” commented Ann Perry, vice president …

Former Principal to Take the Helm of Bishop Feehan Once Again

Dr. George Milot to be principal for a year until position filled in long-term.

Dr. George Milot has been appointed as the ninth principal at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro.   Milot’s appointment was approved by Bishop George W. Coleman and announced by Diocesan Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael Griffin at a gathering of faculty and staff in the Bishop Feehan chapel Tuesday, June 5.  Well known throughout the Diocese, Milot served as principal of Bishop Feehan from 1994 to 2001, and as Diocesan Superintendent of Schools from 2001 to 2011. Norton Graduates of Bishop Feehan

Graduation ceremony to take place May 31.

Bishop Feehan High School students will graduate Thursday, May 31. The baccalaureate Mass begins 9:30 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., the third in class, Chad Benoit, will speak at the tree planting ceremony. The graduation ceremony will begin at McGrath Stadium at 7 p.m.   The following is a list of Norton students graduating from Bishop Feehan and the colleges they will be attending. Norton's Schwieger Signs With St. Louis Rams

Former Bishop Feehan standout Nick Schwieger signed a free agent contact to play for the St. Louis Rams.

  Norton's Nick Schwieger, a former standout at Bishop Feehan, signed a free agent contract with the St. Louis Rams. After going undrafted after an outstanding career at Dartmouth College, Schwieger inked a contract shortly after the draft ended. At Dartmouth, Schwieger was one of the top running backs in the school's history, finishing his senior year with 1,310 yards and 10 touchdowns on 241 carries. He also caught 23 passes for 119 yards, earning third team Associated Press honors.  The 5 foot, 10 inch, Schwieger is first in all-purposed yards at Dartmouth with 4,115.
