This playful pup is still in need of a home.
Norton Animal Shelter, located just behind Nine Lives at 84 Hill St., has cats and dogs up for adoption. This week, Norton Patch will feature Yoda, a Portuguese Hunting Dog. Yoda was picked up on a dead end road where neighbors said they saw an SUV, which the shelter thinks was possibly his owner driving away, leaving him behind. Yoda is a friendly dog. He weighs 39 pounds and is approximately 3 years old. The shelter named him Yoda when it was mentioned to shelter workers that he looked liked the character in "Star Wars" with the large pointed ears. Yoda appears to be house trained and is not destructive with blankets or toys. He does, however, seem much too interested in the cats at the shelter, so he may do better in a home without cats…

A shy kitty turned lovable companion.
Norton Animal Shelter, located just behind Nine Lives at 84 Hill St., has cats and dogs up for adoption. This week, Norton Patch will feature Crackers, a calico cat. Crackers was left on the side of the road in a cat carrier. Crackers is a beautiful cat who is still a bit shy, but that was to be expected knowing how she was found. She seems fine with cats, but it has taken a while for that to happen. She seems okay with small dogs. Animal shelter workers believe that she probably thinks that it is another cat. Crackers was not eager to have her picture taken as she would hide under the cage, but don't hold that against her. Not every gal likes their picture all over the Internet. She is fine with people and she would do fine once she is in…
