The race for the Massachusetts Fourth Congressional District seat will take another step forward tonight as the candidates take part in a debate at Wellesley College. Democrat Joe Kennedy III and Republican Sean Bielat will participate in the Massachusetts Fourth Congressional District debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters and Wellesley College. This is the third debate between the candidates, who seek to replace longtime Democratic Congressman Barney Frank. Both Bielat and Kennedy have participated in a live chat on Patch, and the two candidates will appear once more after tonight in a televised debate October 24 broadcast live on WFXT-TV. Two-Alarm Fire at Canton Home The cause of a two-alarm fire that ignited at a home on Chapman Street in Canton Tuesday night was the result of an accidental electrical issue, Canton Fire Chief Charles E. Doody said Wednesday. The fire broke out around 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, and caused fire damage to a basement electrical room. The two occupants who own the home were displaced as a result of the fire, though there were no injuries, Doody said. Voters heard a variety of different views from both sides of the political aisle Tuesday night at Stonehill College in Easton when Democratic and Republican candidates for the 4th Congressional District squared off in separate debate forums. Editor-in-Chief of The Herald News and Taunton Daily Gazette Lisa Strattanand moderated the event, which was hosted by the Martin Institute at Stonehill. Questions came from a panel made up of WGBH Boston political reporter Adam Reilly, WCVB-TV political reporter Sean Kelly and Herald News editorial page editor Aaron Frechette.
