Norton Public Library, which began as the Norton Magazine Club in 1879, became a Massachusetts corporation in 1886.More Eliza Wheaton, whose painting adorns the library's meeting room, gave the library to the town. Previously located at the intersection of Routes 123 and 140, the library moved to its current location in 1991. The adjacent park opened in 1999.
Norton Historical Society

Housed in the District 3 Schoolhouse, the Norton Historical Society meets every third Tuesday from September through MayMore (except December). It offers research assistance in genealogy and local history. In addition, education programs are available for school groups. Society President Ruth Goold encourages all to come to the Old Schoolhouse and see the wonderful artifacts, speak with the members, learn and become acquainted with the town. New members are welcome.
