Auto East Foxborough Owner Robert 'Red' Galloway Dies at 82; Raced Stock Cars

Galloway owned Auto East in Foxborough and farms in Easton and Norton.

Robert "Red" Keith Galloway, 82, died in his Easton home, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday morning, April, 18, 2013. He was born in Taunton, son of he late Percy and Laura (O’Neil) Galloway. Red was a 1948 graduate of Taunton High School. As a young man, he raced stock cars and that led him into the automobile business. For many years, he was an automobile dealer, having his own business, Auto East on Rt. 1, in Foxboro, across from Patriot Place. Red also was a well-known farmer, having farms in both Norton and Easton. He has been a member of the Hundred Club for more than 30 years. He enjoyed cooking and playing in the stock market. Obituary: Leighton C. Foster

Mr. Foster was a former employee of the Norton Highway and Water Departments.

Leighton C. Foster, age 79, a lifelong resident of Norton died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Born in Brockton, Aug. 21, 1933, he was a son of the late Leighton A. and Marjorie H. (Copeland) Foster. He grew up in Norton and had attended the Bristol County Agricultural School in Dighton. A United States Air Force veteran, Mr. Foster had worked for several years for the Norton Highway and Water Departments. Leighton was a very talented man. He was a familiar face around Norton and was often seen traveling around town by way of bicycle. He was the brother of Barbara Foster of Norton and was pre-deceased by his sister Nancy Foster. She grew up in Philadelphia, getting a 12-year education at the Germantown Friends School (1938) and graduated with an AB from Wheaton College in 1942. She met her future husband, Robert, while visiting the Ohio home of one of her Wheaton roommates. They were wed in Los Angeles in 1944 when Robert was attending an Army language program at UCLA.
