Women's Basketball Hosts Clinic for Norton Fifth And Sixth Graders in Remembrance of Sandy Hook

Free clinic paid tribute to Sandy Hook Elementary School victims.

The women's basketball team hosted a free clinic for Norton fifth and sixth graders Wednesday at Emerson Gymnasium. The Lyons paid tribute to everyone who has been affected by the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.  Dec. 14 by hosting the free clinic for members of the Norton community.

At the end of the clinic, players from the women's basketball team and the Norton students signed a card for the Newtown community.

The women's basketball team also plans on attending various elementary schools throughout the Massachusetts region during the season to honor and support the Newtown community by offering free basketball clinics.

On Jan. 8, the Norton fifth graders will play a game at halftime as Wheaton hosts Springfield College in Emerson Gymnasium for a New England Men's and Women's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup at 7 p.m.

The Lyons (5-5, 2-2 NEWMAC) return to action on Saturday, Jan. 5 against NEWMAC foe, Mount Holyoke College, at 1 p.m.
