11-Year-Olds Defeat Two in Cal Ripken Tournament

Still in the running for the championship Thursday.

Norton 11 year old baseball players are working hard on progressing towards a Cal Ripkin New England Regional Title. They defeated Concord, NH and Andy Valley, Maine this weekend.

Norton beat New Hampshire 6-2 and Maine 8-0.

Colin Beyna and Corey Stalters each took a night pitching 4 and 5 innings  and  letting up only one hit each in the game. Cam Collyer came in to finish up pitching both games. Lucas Combs did a great job catching both nights, and many team players had great hits.

Beyna was named MVP against New Hampshire and Stalters against Maine.

Other Cal Ripkin Pin Awards were given to Jared Winiarz, Combs, Collyer and Jack O’Brien for great offensive and defensive work.

They play against Cranston, RI 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lee Birchill Complex.  Monday, Aug. 6, two more games will be played at 5:30 p.m. for teams not in the winning bracket. On Burchill A, Concord, NH will play against Quincy. On Burchill B Andy Valley, ME will face Oxford, CT. The final Championship game will be played Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
