10 Lyons Advance to Finals at NCAA D3 Outdoor Track & Field Championship

Student athletes to compete Saturday.

The men's and women's outdoor track & field team will have several student-athletes competing for All-America status at the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championship on Saturday.

Senior Mark Williamson (Vienna, Va./James Madison) placed fifth in the 400m dash prelims (48.05) on Friday and will race 6:50 p.m. EST. He is also a member of the 4x400m relay team which qualified for the finals (3:15.53) on Friday and will join senior Miles Ketchum (South Lee, Mass./Monument Mountain Regional), junior Ben Miklovich (New Gloucester, Maine/Grey-New Gloucester), and junior Karl Mader (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) in the championship race at 9:30 p.m. EST.

On the women's side, senior Ashley Dell'Aira (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham) will compete in the triple jump at 6 p.m. EST. Classmate Didine Jusme (Providence, R.I./Classical) finished seventh in the 100m hurdle prelims (14.21) on Friday and will race at 6:15 p.m. EST while sophomore Ashante Little (Seabrook, N.H./Winnacunnet) was second in the 400m dash prelims (55.88) on Thursday and competes in the finals at 6:40 p.m. EST.

The 4x400m relay team of Little, senior Lauren Cardarelli (Cranston, R.I./La Salle), junior Amanda Claflin (Pembroke, Mass./Pembroke), and sophomore Meredith Scannell (San Marino, Calif./San Marino) also qualified for the finals (3:50.04) Thursday evening and will race at 9:20 p.m. EST.
