Parent Advisory Board Seeking Clothing Donations

Proceeds to benefit All-Night Grad Party.

The Norton High School Parent Advisory Board (NHS PAB) is offering two opportunities for you to clean your closet while raising funds for programs at Norton High School.

NHS PAB and NHS Soccer have partnered with ShoeBox Recycling. ShoeBox recycles reusable shoes and has humanized the process by allowing recyclers to place a note in their shoe, to track the journey and possibly connect with the future owner or “solemate”!  Shoes accepted are used sneakers, shoes, work boots and cleats. UGGs, winter boots or shoes with metal spikes will not be accepted. Collection bins are located in the front lobby of Norton High School and will be available at the home NHS football games on Oct. 26 and Nov. 9.  This is an on-going fundraiser for the 2012-13 school year.

Women’s and teenager’s clothing can be bagged and dropped at the NHS Lobby now through Nov. 6. The clothing will be taken to CHIC 2 CHIC, a resale shop in Foxborough, for resale or donation. Items can also be dropped off at Chic 2 CHIC at 34 School St., Foxborough all year long and consigned with the Norton High School Parent Advisory Account. CHIC 2 CHIC proceeds will help fund the 2013 All-Night Grad Party.

Clothing needed includes reusable fall and winter clothing, jeans, blouses, shoes, purses, scarves and accessories of all sizes. Summer and spring clothing will not sell at this time but CHIC 2 CHIC will donate these items. Chic 2 Chic is also accepting boy’s and men’s Halloween costumes. Formal, cocktail and prom dresses will be accepted on hangers. There will be a rolling rack for them.

Unsold items will be donated to Cradles 2 Crayons, Boys & Girls Clubs, local area church clothing pantries, local school's prom dress drives, and local battered women’s shelters. There is no opportunity to reclaim donated clothing.

Drop all donations at the Norton High School Lobby 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at NHS football games Oct. 26 or Nov. 9 or email nortonhighpab@yahoo.com to arrange a drop off.
