Norton Resident Appointed to American International College

Sandra Alvarez named assistant professor of sociology.

Sandra D. Alvarez was named an assistant professor of sociology at American International College in Springfield, Mass. The announcement was made recently by AIC Provost Todd Fritch.

Alvarez was one of several new faculty appointed at AIC for the fall semester, including including Tracie Klekotka of Granby, Mass., Frank P. Borrelli of West Springfield, Nestor L. Chevere of Springfield, Jamina Scippio-McFadden of Springfield, Sarah M. Waters of Enfield, Conn., and Mei-Lin Yeh-Lane of West Springfield.

Previously, Alvarez taught at Essex Community College in Lawrence, Mass., and Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pa. Alvarez received her bachelor's degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass., her master's degree from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo., and her doctoral degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan.

AIC is a private, coeducational institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs in the schools of arts, sciences and education, business administration, health sciences and continuing education.
