Three More Take Out Nomination Papers

George Burgess vying for Planning Board while Mark Powers and Daniel Sheedy go for School Committee.

George F. Burgess, Mark Powers and Daniel Sheedy have dropped their names in the hat for this year’s annual town election.

Burgess has taken out papers for the Planning Board. He is on the ballot next to incumbent David Miller for one of three seats available.

Powers and Sheedy will be up against current School Committee chairperson Andrew Mackie and nominee Valerie Desmond. There are two three-year terms available.

Incumbents Robert Kimball Jr. and Robert Salvo Sr. are looking to be reelected while George Gillis is also vying for a seat. Ralph Stefanelli and Robert Salvo Sr. are both trying to keep their Housing Authority positions. No one has taken nomination papers for the Water/Sewer Commission or Board of Assessors, which both have one seat apiece.

Nomination papers for the Annual Town Election in Norton are available at the Town Clerk’s office through March 8 at 5 p.m. The last day to submit papers to the Board of Registrars is Tuesday, March 12 for certification. Certified nomination papers must be given to the Town Clerk Tuesday, March 26.  

The Annual Town Election in Norton will be held 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30.
