Several Candidates Come Forward for Town Office Election

Kimball and Salvo seek reelection on Board of Selectmen.

Several people have already begun their road to election day by obtaining nomination papers.

Incumbents Robert Kimball Jr. and Robert Salvo Sr. are looking to be reelected while George Gillis is also vying for a seat. School Committee chairperson Andrew Mackie is seeking reelection while Beth McManus’ seat is being eyed by Valerie Desmond. Ralph Stefanelli and Robert Salvo Sr. are both trying to keep their Housing Authority positions. While three seats are available on the Planning Board, so far only incumbent David Miller has taken out papers. No one has taken nomination papers for the Water/Sewer Commission or Board of Assessors, which both have one seat apiece.

Nomination papers for the Annual Town Election in Norton are available at the Town Clerk’s office through March 8 at 5 p.m. The last day to submit papers to the Board of Registrars is Tuesday, March 12 for certification. Certified nomination papers must be given to the Town Clerk Tuesday, March 26.  

The Annual Town Election in Norton will be held 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30.
