Selectmen Pause to Remember Branco

Norton's Hermani Branco passed away after a car accident last week.

A few short days after a car accident took his life, Norton Selectmen took a moment to remember Hernani "Ernie" Branco last Thursday.

Selectman Robert Salvo requested that the board send condolences to Branco's friends and family.

"He was a good friend," Salvo said. "And, he was also a good parent. I would just like to send our condolences during this tragic time."

Salvo said Branco was a "mentor" in the community who "taught everyone a lot."

The 61-year-old Norton man passed away Sunday, Dec. 8 from injuries sustained when his vehicle struck a guard rail on Richardson Avenue.

Branco was a husband and father of three.

He is a former teacher and soccer coach at Brockton High School. He also coached at Stonehill College and a member of the Stonehill Hall of Fame.
