Norton Hires New Building Commissioner

The former Dartmouth and Somerset building inspector was hired in Norton

Norton has a new building commissioner.

Last week, Selectmen approved the hire of Joel S. Reid for the position. The vote came with a recommendation from Town Manager Michael Yunits.

"I did interview eight people for the position and joe stepped forward as someone who would work well with employees and residents of the town and has knowledge that is needed," Yunits said.

Reid said he grew up in construction. His father owned a construction company and he owned a company as well.

Reid was the building inspector in Dartmouth for 15 year and in Somerset for another five years.

"We are here to support you," Selectmen Chair Robert Kimball said. "Anything we can do to help you.."
