Kimball Apologizes to Candidates

Conservation Commission position still open.

Following up from last week's meeting, selectman Bob Kimball apologized for comments he made about finding someone for the conservation commission position.

“We are looking for someone open-minded, and doesn’t have an ax to grind so to speak,” . “I’m looking for someone who just wants to come and serve the town. No hidden agenda, just wants to come in and do what they think is best,” added selectmen Robert Kimball.

According to the Sun Chronicle, Kimball said he reviewed the comments in news accounts and by watching a replay of the board's meeting. "That wasn't a fair assessment of the candidates," he said.

One more candidate has come forward, and the Board of Selectmen will conduct an interview of this person before making a decision.

I really don't see why he apoligized because its true. Probably shouldn't have said it at BOS meeting but still. Isn't one of the candidates a planning board member? Let's get new blood on these boards and not be having candidates serving on more than one board.
