How Much Money Did Norton Spend in the Last Storm?

Town Manager Michael Yunits said a significant amount of money

Town Manager Michael Yunits said Thursday night that the Town of Norton spent $38,000 in storm cleanup last week in the New Year's snowstorm.

"We expended $10,000 just in salt on that storm," he told selectmen Thursday night.

Yunits said the storm was drawn out over a few days, resulting in more cleanup and more money spent.

Norton has a snow line item of $80,000 in the FY14 operating budget.  Bay State Municipalities are allowed to exceed the line item if necessary.

Last week's snow storm dropped approximately 8 inches of snow in Norton over the course of nearly two days.
