Assistant Animal Control Officer Wanted

The Town of Norton is accepting applications for the position of part-time assistant animal control officer. 

Responsibilities include performing investigative duties relative to dog complaints and enforcement of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 140 Section 136A - 175 and town leash law, maintaining Norton Animal Shelter, picking up injured animals and working with the Humane Society.

This job requires a high school diploma with working knowledge of animals, especially dogs. Associates Degree in Science or Animal Science preferred. The assistant must have the ability to communicate well with the public under a variety of conditions.

Hours are flexible. Starting pay is $13.13 per hour.

Applications are available Monday through Friday in the Town Manager's office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Applications must be submitted no later than Jan. 22.
