Wheaton Issues Warning of Off-Campus Attacks

The warning reminds students to use caution when patronizing local businesses where alcohol is served.

At 4:23 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Wheaton College students received a public safety alert urging them not to leave the campus alone due to an alleged attack on a student.

Norton Police Lieutenant Todd Jackson sent out a statement Sunday saying that the matter is still under investigation and no other information is available.

To the Wheaton Community:

A Wheaton student was allegedly sexually assaulted by an employee of a nearby Norton establishment frequented by Wheaton students. An investigation by the Norton Police Department is continuing.

Students are reminded, as always, to use caution when patronizing local businesses where alcohol is served. Avoid high levels of intoxication. Remain with friends. Do not travel alone.
