Smell of Gas, Assault and Battery and Resisting Arrest

The following information about recent local police incidents was supplied by the Norton Police Department. An arrest and/or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 5:

11:41 a.m. - Newcomb St.

Police reported the smell of gas at the Route 495 overpass where roadwork is being conducted. Columbia gas was working the week prior. The gas company was contacted and someone was sent out to address the issue.

Nov. 6:

12:38 p.m. - E. Main St.

One person was placed under arrest.

Thomas E Ghebremicael, 21, of Boston was arrested for suspicion of indecent assault and battery for a person over 14 years old.

Nov. 7:

12:23 a.m. - W. Main St.

A caller from the Sportsway Cafe requested an officer for a female patron who was harrassing patrons. She was escorted out and was then in the Honey Dew parking lot sitting on a suit case. Police responded and issued the patron a tresspass served in hand.

2:12 a.m. - Newland St.

A caller reported a male is outside banging on the door. Police responded to the incident. Police reported the male was resisting arrest and was highly intoxicated, unable to supply any information. A taser was deployed.

Hugh Joseph Boyd, 22, of Mansfield was arrested for suspicion of resisting arrest and disturbing the peace.
